When you are in the Fredericksburg area, then you already know there are many sights and activities for you to see and do around the community. Located along the banks of the Rappahannock River, and across from the downtown historic area, Chatham Manor is an 18th-century house that was built in 1771. This historic home is open every day, and guests are welcome to explore the property, as well as the buildings on the property, too.

Within the historic district, you will find many other historic buildings to explore. A few that might interest you include; Mary Washington House, Rising Sun Tavern Museum, High Mercer Apothecary Shop, and the Fredericksburg Area Museum.

Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park is another interesting venue you might want to explore while you are in the region. This park consists of several different locations that you can visit, including sites of four important battles that were fought in the area. You can visit the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center, Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center, Wilderness Exhibit Shelter, and the Spotsylvania Court House Battlefield Center to learn more about the important battles and the fallout from each battle, as well.
